History

 

On April 1st 1964, the Charter of Wood Wire and Metal Lathers International Union, Local 423 was signed. Signatories were Levis Bissonnette, William Deneault, J.N.N. Guilbeault, Clovis Desjardins, Paul Lefebvre and Joseph N. Martin. 

In 1971, Wood Wire and Metal Lathers Local 423 merged with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and joiners, Local 2041.

As part of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (UBC), Local 2041 is part of one of North America’s largest building trades unions, with over half a million members.
